21and9 formed in 2019 on the shores of Lake Huron in Kincardine, Ontario. The band consists of lead singer/guitarist Rob Edwards, bass player Johnny Culbert, lead guitarist Zach Brajuha and Dane Dunlop on drums. Rob and Johnny have played together in a variety of bands for over 25 years. The band's sound is a throwback to the Seattle sound of the 90s with a modern twist. In the summer of 2023, 21and9 opened for Canadian legends Glass Tiger at the Kincardine Scottish Festival, and headlined the Kincardine Bulldogs Beach Dance in front of a crowd of thousands. They were the 2022 Battle of the Bands winner at Bar Down Kincardine, and were also featured in "Rrampt" magazine with a story highlighting the "Balloons" album. In 2024, the band made it to the finals of the “Ticket to Tall Pines” festival in Bracebridge sponsored by 89.1 Max FM, and we featured on Rock 95's "Garage to Glory". The second album, "Balloons", was released in 2023 to all major streaming platforms. This release was designated as a "fast riser" on Spotify, which hit over 1,100+ monthly listeners, and is in rotation on 97.9 The Bruce and 95.5 Shoreline Classics.
